Production Photos
Constellations is a play written by Nick Payne about the infinite possible outcomes in a budding relationship between a girl, Marianne, and a boy, Rowland.
Renderings
A rendering was created along side a graphic presentation depicting scientific principles to influence the set.
Research
The play takes the concept of one moment in a relationship through the lens of multiple universes and outcomes. Based on the scientific principles of multiverse theory and the bending of space-time around the earth, a grid was created to emulate gravitational waves whereas a floating mass above the stage emulated nature in its pattern-less beauty.
Graphic Design
Complete graphic design package including 11x17 poster, Facebook and Instagram banners and profile photos, and playbill.
Costumes
Marianne's costume
To contrast Marianne's scientific approach to life, love, and a career, her costume reflects the natural and asymmetrical aspects of the set design.
Roland's costume
To contrast Roland's fun and playful approach to a relationship and to life, he was given a very structured costume complete with a subtle grid pattern to emulate the floor and scientic principles of the show.
